A yellow-diamond ring was the highlight of a recent Hong Kong jewelry sale at Poly Auction, selling for HKD 2.9 million ($370,431).
The piece, which contains a rectangular-shaped, 16.06-carat, fancy-intense-yellow, VVS2-clarity diamond center stone, surrounded by trapezoid, baguette and circular-cut white diamonds, was among the 65 lots that sold at the auction. It carried a presale estimate of HKD 2.8 million to HKD 3.8 million ($360,123 to $488,739) at the November 27 Magnificent Jewels sale.
The sale also featured items from several private collectors, as well as jewels from famed designers including Cartier, Buccellati, and Van Cleef & Arpels. Jadeite and colored gemstones were popular at the auction, which garnered a total of HKD 24.3 million ($3.1 million).
