The elegant bracelet, featuring 27 radiant-cut yellow diamonds, was expected to fetch between $61,000 and $86,000. It was auctioned on January 30 at Woolley & Wallis in Salisbury, southern England.
Taylor, who passed away in 2011, and Jackson, shared a strong friendship throughout their lives. Taylor served as the godmother to Jackson’s children, Paris and Prince. Over the years, the King of Pop gifted the actress numerous pieces of jewellery, including this bracelet with a 3.38-carat central diamond.
This particular bracelet had previously been sold at a December 2011 auction for $182,500 as part of Elizabeth Taylor’s famed collection, which fetched a staggering $116 million—well beyond its $20 million estimate—setting a new record for the most valuable jewellery collection ever sold at auction.
Marielle Whiting, a jewellery specialist at Woolley & Wallis, described the piece as “a beautiful and highly wearable diamond bracelet with truly legendary provenance that continues to live on.”
