Sotheby’s will feature a number of jadeite and diamond pieces at its upcoming Hong Kong auction, including Cartier earrings with an upper estimate of HKD 32 million ($4.1 million).
The pear-shaped diamond earrings — suspending a 6.32-carat, fancy-intense-pink, SI2 stone and a 6.03-carat, D-color, internally flawless one — are among the top lots at the April 25 High Jewelry auction. In February, Sotheby’s revamped its jewelry sales, changing the name of its premiere auctions from Magnificent Jewels to High Jewelry to attract a younger audience.
The sale will also include items from Graff, Bulgari, and Van Cleef & Arpels, as well as colored diamonds and gemstones.

This jadeite necklace contains 46 slightly graduated, vivid-green beads, with a cabochon ruby and brilliant-cut diamond-set clasp. It has a high estimate of HKD 35 million ($4.5 million). A ring with a cut-cornered rectangular, 5.24-carat, fancy-intense-orangey-pink diamond of VS2 clarity, flanked by two half-moon-shaped diamonds, has an upper price of HKD 15.5 million ($2 million). Set with a step-cut, 45.15-carat, fancy-intense-yellow, VS1-clarity diamond, this ring is expected to fetch up to HKD 15 million ($1.9 million). This ring features a cut-cornered rectangular brilliant-cut, 61.47-carat, fancy-greenish-yellow, VS2-clarity diamond. It has a top estimate of HKD 12 million ($1.5 million). Bearing a cushion-shaped, 11.56-carat Kashmir sapphire between two old European-cut diamonds, this ring has a high price of HKD 8 million ($1 million). Sotheby’s will offer a pair of earrings set with jadeite double hoops of highly translucent intense green color, which are suspended from step- and brilliant-cut diamonds, for a high estimate of HKD 7 million ($902,275). This set carved as peapods comprises a necklace of highly translucent, bright-green jadeite, decorated with pear-shaped and brilliant-cut diamonds, and a pair of jadeite earrings. It’s predicted to garner as much as HKD 6.5 million ($837,857). The auction house will sell this ring, featuring a step-cut, 9.19-carat, very-light-pink, VVS2-clarity, type IIa diamond, decorated with brilliant-cut diamonds, for up to HKD 6 million ($773,401). A pendant necklace with a pear-shaped, 11.84-carat, D-color, internally flawless diamond is set to make up to HKD 5.5 million ($708,954). This unmounted oval, 0.42-carat, fancy-red, SI2-clarity diamond has an upper estimate of HKD 5.5 million ($708,954). A Tiffany & Co. ring featuring a brilliant-cut, 8.41-carat, D-color, internally flawless, type IIa diamond flanked by brilliant-cut diamonds is expected to fetch HKD 5.5 million ($708,954).
