Sheryl Jones: A New Force on the JA Board
Sheryl Jones is an acclaimed fine jewellery designer whose career began in 2000 following a successful decade in the television and music industries, where she served as Vice President of Communications at MTV. Her transition into the world of jewellery was driven by a passion for diamonds and gemstones, leading her to work with prominent diamond manufacturers and develop her expertise in gemology and design.
In 2013, Jones opened her first retail space on New York’s iconic 47th Street, where she built a strong clientele known for seeking exquisite craftsmanship and high-quality pieces. After the pandemic, she relocated her business to Rockefeller Plaza, continuing to cater to private clients and wholesale partnerships.
Her jewellery has been showcased in prestigious exhibitions, including Sotheby’s Brilliant and Black, further cementing her status as a notable figure in the jewellery community. Jones holds a Graduate Diamonds degree from the Gemological Institute of America (GIA) and actively supports the industry, including serving on the advisory board for the Black In Jewelry Coalition.
A New Chapter for Jewelers of America
Jones joins a distinguished roster of industry leaders on the Jewelers of America Board of Directors, including Lawrence Bock of Bachendorf’s, Joseph Corey of Day’s Jewelers, and Kim Crawford of Macy’s Inc., among others. Together, this team will work toward advancing JA’s mission to support professionalism, ethics, and best practices across the fine jewellery industry.
