Held across two venues, AsiaWorld-Expo and the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre, the event attracted over 50,000 visitors from 140+ countries and regions, marking a notable rise in international participation.
Key highlights included a unique pearl exhibit, which captivated attendees with its stunning displays, and a series of panel discussions featuring iconic luxury jewellery brands. The event also celebrated Informa’s Sustainability Awards, emphasizing the industry’s commitment to sustainable practices. This edition featured over 3,300 exhibitors from 40+ nations, showcasing an extensive array of diamonds, coloured gemstones, and pearls, alongside equipment and technology suppliers.
Despite facing macroeconomic challenges, the fair demonstrated the resilience of the jewellery community. Notably, 67.85% of total attendance comprised international buyers, reflecting JGW’s reputation as the top destination for sourcing fine jewellery and related products. Visitors hailed from regions like South America (+19.9%), the Middle East (+18.3%), North America (+7.5%), and Europe (+4.7%), underscoring the event’s global appeal.
In addition to the exhibitions, JGW fostered discussions on sustainability, honouring exceptional initiatives in the jewellery sector. The Sustainability Heroes Panel Series featured conversations on “Jewels Of A Sustainable Future,” while the pearl exhibit, “Orient Odyssey: From Shell To Market – The Fascinating Life Of Pearls,” provided insight into the pearl industry and its environmental stewardship.
Looking ahead, JGW is set to return in 2025, scheduled for September 15 to 19 at the AWE and September 17 to 21 at the HKCEC. Concurrently, the ‘SEASONS | Autumn Fashion Jewellery & Accessories Fair’ reported a significant rise in attendance, attracting over 12,000 buyers, marking a 10.8% increase from the previous edition. With a focus on innovation and fashion-forward collections, this fair continues to be a premier sourcing destination in Asia.
