Positioned within the Tom Bradley International Terminal, the boutique marks a significant milestone in Cartier’s global airport expansion, which has seen the Maison establish a presence in 24 boutiques across 19 major airports worldwide. The new LAX location reinforces Cartier’s commitment to providing meaningful luxury experiences for travellers.
Designed to reflect the dynamic spirit of Los Angeles, the boutique’s exterior features a champagne gold panel inspired by California’s coastal waves, seamlessly extending to the interior. Inside, a rich palette of sandy neutrals, ocean blues, and sunset hues complements Cartier’s iconic champagne tones. A striking mural featuring the Maison’s emblematic panther integrates elements of L.A.’s architectural landscape, offering travellers an immersive artistic and cultural experience.
“The opening of the LAX boutique symbolizes our commitment to establishing a strong presence in key strategic airports worldwide,” said Virginie Martignac, Global Travel Retail Director at Cartier. “We are excited to collaborate with DFS and LAX to craft a unique experience that merges Cartier’s creativity with the vibrant character of L.A.”
Walter Bolognino, President & CEO of Cartier North America, highlighted the significance of the new boutique: “Los Angeles has been home to Cartier for over 50 years, and we are thrilled to welcome guests from around the world to this new space.”
DFS Group Limited, the world’s leading luxury travel retailer, also emphasized the importance of the partnership. “This boutique strengthens our long-standing relationship with Cartier and reinforces our vision of providing travellers with exclusive and innovative luxury experiences,” said Malissa Iannone Akay, Global President, Merchandising and Marketing, DFS Group Limited.
With a focus on sustainability, Cartier aims for its LAX boutique to achieve LEED certification, underscoring its dedication to responsible luxury retail.
