As artificial intelligence continues to disrupt and redefine traditional industries, its application in the diamond sector is gaining momentum. The seminar focused on the growing importance of AI in enhancing authenticity and traceability throughout the diamond value chain — a critical advancement for a sector that increasingly demands transparency and accountability.
The keynote address was delivered by Janak Mistry, a globally respected figure in the diamond industry, often referred to as the “Diamantaires Scientist.” Mistry, who holds a BE in Mechanical Engineering and a DGA-GAGTL from London, is the Managing Director and CEO of the Lexus Group of Companies, Surat. With over 30 years of experience and a strong focus on innovation, he has developed a range of cutting-edge instruments to improve diamond yield and processing accuracy.
In his talk, Mistry elaborated on the role of AI in tracing diamond origin through the entire pipeline — a breakthrough that not only reduces the risk of fraud but also elevates consumer confidence by ensuring product integrity.
The seminar saw participation from prominent industry leaders, including Shri Arvind C.
